This week Music in Maryland features a broadcast of the Aspen String Trio who will be performing Beethoven’s String Trio op. 9 # 1 and Mozart’s Divertimento K. 563.  Both are fabulous pieces and recorded beautifully by AST  cellist Mike Mermagen.  The performances were recorded during the 2010 season at University of Baltimore’s Wright Theatre where the Aspen String Trio was in residence.   The Aspen String Trio is made up of Violinist David Perry, Violist Victoria Chiang and Cellist Michael Mermagen.
