Member contributions are largest single source of the station’s annual revenue. Thanks in large part to member support, WBJC brings you classical music 24 hours a day. If you use and enjoy the service, please consider supporting WBJC with a membership contribution.

All membership donations are tax deductible, less the value of any goods or services received

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• “Is my donation tax-deductible?”

Yes, your contribution is fully deductible, less the value of any selected thank you gift benefits. You will receive an acknowledgement of your gift in the mail about three weeks after each donation is paid. Cumulative donations over $250 and all Sustainers will receive a comprehensive tax receipt around January 31st which will include all gifts paid in the previous calendar year. • “When will I receive my thank you gift?”

Your thank you gift will be sent to you 6-8 weeks after 100% of your pledge has been paid. WBJC must place an order for thank you gifts with our fulfillment company after each pledge drive, when we have an accurate inventory of how many items we need to order. Because we must pay the full amount for the items (the items are not donated to WBJC), it is important to cover the costs associated with purchasing the items and shipping to our members. Requiring 100% of the pledge be paid before we send thank you gifts ensures that WBJC’s costs are covered up front. It generally takes 6-8 weeks for our order with the fulfillment company to process and ship. (This time begins after 100% is paid and the order is placed).

Sustaining Members: as appreciation for your continuous support every month, your thank you gift will be sent to you 6-8 weeks after the first payment is processed.

• “Why does WBJC have pledge drives?”

WBJC relies on listener support to fund our operations, not commercial revenues. Reaching our listeners over the radio is the most effective and efficient way to contact our audience and fundraise. If you'd like to volunteer, please email us Membership@wbjc.com

• “What percent of WBJC’s operating income comes from BCCC?”

WBJC does not receive any funding from BCCC. We raise our own operating funds through membership support, major giving, car donations, foundation support, and underwriting.

• “Can I purchase a CD directly through WBJC?”

No. FCC regulations do not allow WBJC to sell recordings. A good source for purchasing recordings is Amazon. If you need help locating a recording, we’re happy to help! Email jpalevsky@aol.com

• “When does my membership expire?”

You can find your membership expiration date above your name and address on any of our mailings. All memberships at WBJC last for 12 months. For example, if you donate in October, your membership will expire the following October.

Some members make multiple gifts within 12-month period, known as additional contributions. Additional gifts above and beyond your annual membership support enable WBJC to do more than just cover our costs, they allow programming to grow. Any gift made within 3 months of your renewal date will automatically renew your membership.

• “What volunteer opportunities exist at WBJC?”

WBJC needs volunteers to assist the membership staff during on-air pledge drives. WBJC is located in Northwest Baltimore, near Pikesville. Email your name, address, and telephone number to membership@wbjc.com to receive information about volunteering.
