12-21-15 Word On Wine Review: Vin De France…Again!

By Jonathan Palevsky | Posted in Host Blogs, Word on Wine | 1 Comment

Today I am rerunning a show we did in November because in the interim I bought a case of La Chaussynette and enjoyed a bottle with good friends last night.  I haven’t met anyone who didn’t enjoy this wine and you should to.  You will probably need to order it but any good wine store should be able to take care of it.

This week Mary and I review 2 French reds one from Lirac and the other which is simply marked Vin De France.  Both were nice.

1)La Chaussynette.  Vin De France.  This is a lovely $14 gem of a wine which is just labled as table wine or ‘Vin De France’.  The cepage is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah.  A great way to drink Chateauneuf Du Pape at a fraction of the price.  If it isn’t at your wine store…order it!

2)2012 Roquedon.  Lirac.  $19.  This was perfectly nice and a little smoother and rounder than your average Rhone wine.  Very much enjoyed by both of us.

Here’s our show…Enjoy.
