5-9-15 Music In Maryland Peabody Extravaganza!

By Jonathan Palevsky | Posted in Host Blogs, Music In Maryland | 1 Comment

This week we feature a concert with the Peabody Concert Orchestra, Peabody Singers and Peabody-Hopkins Chorus, all conducted by Edward Polochick.  The concert was recorded on December 9, 2014 at Peabody’s Miriam A. Friedberg Concert Hall.  On the program…

J.S. Bach: Magnificat in D BWV 243

Elgar: Enigma Variations, op. 36

To fill I used a really nice recording of the Weinberg Trumpet Concerto featuring BSO principal trumpeter Andrew Balio.  The St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Vladimir Lande.  A really fine Naxos recording.  We finished off the evening with Joshua Bell playing the Bloch Baal Shem with David Zinman and the Baltimore Symphony.  Hope you enjoyed the show!
