Spring Drive recap!
Thank you, thank you, thank YOU! To all 946 of you who pledged your support for classical music, opera and vocal programming, both on the phones and online… we are so grateful to you!
I know it sounded dire at points, (there were points where it felt dire on our end too!) but this drive really was a SUCCESS! On-air drives have two main points: to reach new members and to raise money so we can run the station.
- we reached 302 new members! This is truly the advantage of an on-air drive over direct mail fundraising. We have no more effective way to reach out and let people know that we rely on the listeners to support the station. We welcome each and every one of you to the WBJC family!
- that means 644 of you were renewing or making an additional gift in support of WBJC. Grazie! You are the backbone of the the station!
- we raised $112,537 in support of classical music on WBJC.
We dislike interrupting the music just as much as you do, but we wouldn’t have raised this much money without asking you for help. Thank you for the support, and thank you for your patience while we attended to business.
To our hard-working volunteers: you were all ROCKSTARS! Thank you all for your dedication, your great company and for laughing at me when I failed to properly demonstrate how a window cling works. It’s moments like that that will haunt amuse me for many years.
To our generous food donors: THANK YOU! You kept the volunteers and staff well-fed and full of energy. You donated your wares and your time in support of WBJC, and we are ever grateful!
It’s been a long few days, and the Membership Department will be hard at work processing all the pledges and getting your Thank-You Gifts out in the mail to you as fast as humanly possible. If you didn’t select one during the drive, worry not! We’ll be sending you a premium list you can select from. If you have any follow-up questions or concerns about your pledge, please contact the Membership staff (Yvonne Allen or myself) at 410-580-5800.
And lastly, we’ve heard you loud and clear: you don’t want to hear us talking, you want to hear MUSIC! Management is looking at ways we can reduce the number of days, or even the number of drives, next fiscal year.
If you have an idea of how we can reach out to new members, please drop us a line through the Contact Form. Maybe there’s an event you think the WBJC Travelling Booth should be attending? Maybe you know a local business that might like to become a WBJC Business Sponsor? Give Jim Ward a buzz!
Ultimately, we want to be the best classical music station we can be: forever. One that you enjoy and love. 🙂
