9-17-12 Word On Wine Review! Viognier and Chablis!

Welcome French white wine lovers and well…just white wine lovers!  We have two winners for you one from the Rhone and the other from Burgundy.

1)2011 White Cote Du Rhone Village from Domaine de Couron.  $16.  This was estate bottled and the names of the people responsible were right on the label.  We can thank Marie Lise and Jean Luc Dorthe for this zippy little blend of Rhone grapes which was mostly Viognier.  Viognier is not a favorite of either of us but this one was different.  It had strong fruit without the blousy melon quality that you can find in particularly new world viogniers.  We both liked it.

2)2010 Chablis Vincent Dampt.  $22.  Looking for a reasonably priced bottle from Chablis look no further.  This is it.  Buy a case with your eyes closed.  Check out our reviews.
