A new twist on some old tales from PuppetCo

By Gavin Witt | Posted in Interviews, Staff Blogs, WBJC Programs | Comments Off on A new twist on some old tales from PuppetCo

PuppetCo, based at Glen Echo Park, is giving families–and audiences of all ages–a chance to lighten up and liven up a steamy June, with a world premiere, company-devised spin on some classic fairy tales.

Through June 29th, the company is presenting Twisted Tales: Three Goldilocks Gruff in their playhouse at Glen Echo. More information and tickets are available at https://thepuppetco.org/  or here http://thepuppetco.showare.com

For a sense of the show’s spirit–with its mixture of spontaneous hilarity, thoughtful lessons, creative play, and plenty of audience interaction–hear what members of the cast had to say when they chatted with me virtually from backstage, fresh from a recent performance. Joining me were Jem Creutzer, Christian Wilson, and understudy/SM Amelia Talbot.

The piece itself was conceived and devised by PuppetCo’s Artistic Council* and co-written from that material by Lee Gerstenhaber and Andrew Quilpa, and is directed by Mollie Greenberg.

*About the Puppet Co. Artistic Council:
