A wide theatrical stage scene from a dramatic opera performance. A large crowd of chorus members, dressed in drab, tattered, and weathered light-brown and grey robes and hoods, are gathered closely together. They are looking upward and toward the right with expressions of intense emotion—some with open mouths as if shouting, singing, or pleading. Almost everyone has their hands and arms raised high in the air, creating a dramatic and urgent collective gesture of supplication or protest against a dark background.
