On September 21 the icarus Quartet will present its program, “Textures”, at Mount St. Mary’s University. Winner of the 2019 Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition and appearing in venues throughout the US, the half piano – half percussion quartet is dedicated to the discovery, creation, and performance of new music. Following their Carnegie Hall debut, composer Paul Lansky praised their “… music making of the highest order.”

icarus Quartet is committed to performing new works with a studied and convincing interpretation that mirrors the validity of works with performance practices developed over centuries.

The performance will take place at 7:30 pm in the Marion Burk Knott Auditorium on the campus of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland and is free and open to the public.
