Peacock Alley Martinez

That, is a Peacock Alley Martinez!  I did mine on the rocks and used Luxardo Cherries.  Use whatever gin you like…I used Tanqueray 10.  If you don’t have orange bitters…use what you have, but you definitely need the Angostura bitters.  It’s a really nice cocktail…lots of booze and worth lingering over.  I found this in the New York Times cooking ap while looking for Waldorf Salad!  Here’s a link.

Our second drink comes to us from one of our WBJC volunteers who recently visited Portugal.  We call it The Cyd…I guess because it’s from the Iberian peninsula you could also call it El Cid.  It’s a classic Port combined with Tonic Water.  White Port is traditional…Tawny port is what our guest mixologist recommended and it was nice.  Not much to it…Tawny Port, Tonic, ice and lemon.  Perfect!
