4-27-19 Music In Maryland Poulenc Trio and Piano Marathon!

By Jonathan Palevsky | Posted in Host Blogs, Music In Maryland | 1 Comment

This week Music in Maryland previews two groups/events who are performing next week. The Poulenc Trio is performing with WBJC’s Kati Harrison at An Die Musik in Baltimore Saturday 5/4 and at The National Gallery in DC on 5/5. Also on 5/5 is the Third Annual Baltimore Piano Marathon at First and Franklin Presbyterian Church.

We have music by Previn, Beethoven, Piazzolla, and Gershwin featuring the Poulenc Trio. From last year’s Piano Marathon at First and Franklin Presbyterian Church, we have pianist Lura Johnson playing Preludes and Fugues by Bach from the Well Tempered Klavier Book 1 and Chad Bowles plays Music by Marcello arranged by Earl Wild and Franz Liszt’s operatic fantasies from Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet and Verdi’s Ernani. Thanks so much to Bryan Young from the Poulenc Trio and Jason Kissel from First and Franklin for providing WBJC with beautiful music.
