Wow what a crazy month this has been! Between snowstorms, we managed to have a complete fund drive (applause!) Last winter, we got snowed out, so we had to hold a do-over drive. We are happy to report that not onnly did we meet our total drive goal this time around, we exceeded it!
here are the numbers for you hardcore number crunchers:
February drive goal was: $99,500
total made: $118,489.50
total pledges: 995
new members: 291
Thank you to all of you who pledged financial support, to the food donors that kept us nourished and to the volunteers who made this all possible. Also a extra thank you to the volunteers who came back the week after and helped us beta-test a potential new way of handling a Pledge Drive!
For those that are curious, we’re trying to streamline the pledge process. Right now, a volunteer takes the phone pledge on a paper form. All 995 forms from this drive have to be sorted and alphabetized to keep them manageable (Alida Verwey rocks this BTW!). The membership department (Yvonne and myself) process all those pledge forms by hand. Either sending out a bill or running the charge card info through our processor. Then we have to manually input the receipts into our membership database. Once we’re done with that, we start printing and mailing out thank you letters and the CD premiums. All in all, the whole process after a pledge drive can take about 6 weeks!
Our quest for efficiency continues!
