TIFFANY SERIES CONCERT
One of France’s most distinguished organists, Marie-Louise Langlais, will present a Tiffany Series concert on Sunday, November 18 at 3 p.m. at Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1316 Park Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217. Mme Langlais is widely celebrated for her “intensely musical playing, full of passion,” and for her remarkable technique.
Her concert at Brown Memorial is a particularly exciting and historic event, since Mme Langlais will include in her program works that her late husband, the great composer and organist Jean Langlais, performed on the church’s Skinner Organ in the 1950s to great acclaim.
She and her husband served as co-organists at Paris’s Basilica of Sainte Clothilde, where they played the instrument that César Franck had played and carried on Franck’s remarkable musical tradition.
At the reception following the concert, Mme Langlais will show a short film about Jean Langlais.
