8-8-15 Music in Maryland Baltimore Choral Arts Society: Quest For Peace!
This week we have the privilege of broadcasting the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and their Quest For Peace Concert recorded on Sunday April 26, 2015 at Goucher College’s Kraushaar Auditorium.
Tom Hall leads the full Chorus and string orchestra in poignant and powerful settings of “Dona Nobis Pacem” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Peteris Vasks as well as Arvo Pärt’s beautiful meditation, “Da pacem Domine.” Vocal soloists including soprano Hyunah Yu and bass-baritone Robert Cantrell, and the program also includes the local premiere of a jointly-commissioned motet by composer Jake Runestad.
For the rest of the program I had the pleasure of interviewing members of the Atlantic Reed Consort and playing some selections from their recent recording. They are going to be performing Saturday 8/16 @ The Creative Alliance. It was really fun to meet them and I enjoyed their playing very much.
