6-8-15 Word On Wine Review 2 French Whites for Any Season!!

By Jonathan Palevsky | Posted in Host Blogs, Word on Wine | 2 Comments

This week Mary and I review two really nice and inexpensive whites for Spring.  These are both light and zippy, guaranteed to compliment your Spring/Summer evening

1)2012 Domaine Guindon Muscadet sur Lie.  $15This was a very nice example of Muscadet which had the usual bracing minerality and saline quality.  Don’t wait until you have oysters to try it just buy a bottle.

2)2012 La Salette.  Cotes De Gascogne.  $7!  This was super nice so I bought a case.  I tasted it at Grand Cru  and fell in love.  Great nose with SB style grapefruits and yet nice body on the pallet.   You can’t go wrong for the price.  The Gascogne is an amazing place for bargains.  Take advantage of it!

Here’s our show…enjoy.
