10-10-15 Music In Maryland Finckel & Han Chez Columbia!
This week Music in Maryland presents Cellist David Finckel and Pianist Wu Han in a recital recorded at Smith Theatre Howard Community College in Columbia Maryland. The recital was part of the Candlelight Concert Society Series and was recorded on November 15, 2014. On the program:
Strauss: Cello Sonata op. 6
Messiaean: Praise To The Eternity Of Jesus from Quartet For The End Of Time.
Albeniz: Selections From Suite Espanola. Granada, Cadiz, Sevilla.
Glazunov: Minstrel Song. op.71
Chopin: Cello Sonata op. 65
As an encore the duo played an arrangement of Rachmaninov’s op. 23 # 10.
To Fill we used the Baltimore Symphony’s Vox recording of Hari Janos by Zoltan Kodally.
