10-4-14 Music In Maryland. Gregory Miller…From Bach to Bernstein

This week we are featuring Horn Soloist Gregory Miller and pianist Ernest Barretta in a recital recorded at the University of Maryland College Park Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.   This recording was designed to feature the Conn 8D horn that Gregory Miller purchased from his teacher Robert Fries.  Robert Fries, in addition to teaching Greg Miller, was also Co-Principal horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra and you can also hear his work on those excellent Mercury Living Presence recordings with Paul Paray and the Detroit Symphony.  Here is our program for tonight.
