By Jonathan Palevsky | Posted in Host Blogs, Word on Wine | No Comments

We live in the great age of cocktails…just take a trip to Grand Cru in Belvedere Square and watch the masters dream up the amazing.  Mary found some great recipes in Bon Apetit, (Spring 2013) Food and Wine (7/13)  and the New York Times.  Because we love you I will write them down…I hope you are grateful!

1)Sangria Made with Rose.

Makes about 8 servings.

1 750 ml bottle of Chilled Dry Spanish Rose

1/2 cup Orange Liquor

1 cup of Orange Juice

2 tbs Lime Juice

1 Orange unpeeled cut into thin rounds

4 Apricots pitted and cut into eighths

1 pint Raspberries.

Throw it all together and add some ice!

2)My Clementine

Makes 8 cocktails

14 oz. Vodka

12 oz. Fresh Clementine Juice

6 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

6 oz. Aperol (Bitter Orange Italian aperitif)

4 oz. Light Agave Nectar

Ice

Club Soda

Mix together…top with the club soda.

3)New York Sour

Makes 1 cocktail

2 oz. Rye or Bourbon (I will use my fav Crown Royal)

1 0z. Fresh Lemon Juice

1 oz Simple Syrup.

Load into cocktail shaker fill with ice and shake until frosty!  Strain into Rocks Glass filled with fresh  ice, gently pour a half oz. of fruity red wine (Shiraz or Malbec recommended) over the back of a spoon so it forms a nice layer on top!  It should look pretty!

4)Savory Margaret.

Makes 8 cocktails

1/2 large seedless English Cucumber

1/2 medium Jalapeno

1/4 cup cilantro

18 oz. Tequila

8 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

6 oz. Light Agave Nectar

Celery Bitters

Lime Wedge

Kosher Salt

mix ingredients together, strain and add lime wedge and salt if desired.

Check out our show and try the cocktails before Summer is over!  We will for sure.
