Stolen Renoir
The theft of seven paintings by Picasso, Monet and others from the Kunsthal Museum in Holland recently is the last in a long line of heists from art museums. Back in 1951, this little Renoir called Landscape on the Banks of the Seine was stolen from the Baltimore Museum of Art.
BMA Director, Doreen Bolger, came in to talk to me about the mystery.

What a beautiful painting! I heard the interview on the air, thanks so much, Judith! I had heard about the painting surfacing at a garage sale, but had never read the whole story, and wasn’t aware that it had originally belonged to the BMA… hope it will be returned to them soon. Thanks again!
Yes, let’s hope the painting comes home!
