Back to full power!
Today the transmitter is operating back at full power! BGE managed to clear a path through felled trees and do the needed repairs to restore power to the site (I hear that Pikesville pumping station is back up and running too).
As of 3pm, we still are running on generator here at the studios. Many of our staff were without power at home, and a few have reported in that their juice was restored today as well. Here’s to hoping BGE gets to everyone quickly!
Thank you to all those who have called to check in on us. We’re glad WBJC gives you comfort when the world is chaotic and hot and we’re very glad to be back!
Keep cool, check on elderly neighbors, and drive safely! There are MANY traffic lights still out and not everyone knows (or cares!) to treat them like a 4-way stop.
If you spot any downed electrical wires, DO NOT approach them!! Get to a safe distance and call BGE at 1-877-778-2222 and report them immediately.
P.S. for those of you who have wondered/asked… we DO have a generator at the transmitter site. It was scheduled for the finishing touches on installation in 2 weeks after the phone company wraps up their line installation. Talk about poor timing!!

Power is now fully restored at the studios
