8-20-12 Word On Wine Review…More Whites From Piemonte!
This week our cup runneth over with Piemonte goodness! Our first wine was the 2009 Conte Baldeschi Donna Ginerva Verdicchio. This was a nice spirited minerally Summer Quaffer for about $20. If you haven’t tried Verdicchio why not give it a shot. Our second wine was the 2010 Cascina Chico Arneis. This wasn’t a disappointment but it seemed to both Mary and I that we had enjoyed other Arneis varieties more. Check out the show…you know you want to…just click!

Jonathan – I am putting together a NEW SSO website which will feature local ensembles. One is DiCarlo Strings described below. They have a photo with you that they want to use. I was hoping to get your permission. Please send me an email so I can send you the photo.
The DiCarlo Strings have been providing music for special events such as weddings, fundraisers, dinners and wine tastings since 2001. SSO members Andrew Nowakowski (Violin), Manfred Reek (Violin), Edna Rainey (Viola), and Sheldon Lentz Cello are seen here with Jonathan Palevsky (WBJC) at a Wine Tasting at Wine World in Abingdon. Lewis Blandon (cello) and Enic McClure (viola) frequently join them as alternates. The DiCarlo Strings have played at many local venues including Dancing for the Arts (Bulle Rock Residence Club), Highland School at the Maryland Golf and Country Club, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore at the Belvedere Hotel, Masons Dinner at Richlin Ballroom, Swan Harbor Farm, Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, Castle at Maryvale, Liriodendron Bel Air, Officers Club Aberdeen Proving Ground, and St. Josephs Cathedral.
