As I started listening to Past Masters today, I was reminded that I meant to give my view that the Muti/Philharmonia Manfred Symphony last week seemed really flat. I was lstening through Internat streaming and thought that was why. But when I pulled out my Muti CD and started to listen, the performance wasn’t any better. So, I substituted a really old great recording by Goossens/London Symphony. For a modern treat try Jurowski/London Philharmonic, not Pletnew/Russian Nationl Orchestra. Thanks for letting me vent.
