Pharmacist? Antiques fan? Check this out!

 

My dad is retired now, but he was a pharmacist for over 50 years, so of course I thought of him when I spotted the giant mortar & pestle pictured above at last year’s Baltimore Summer Antiques Show. This rather large piece is made of metal & once sat outside Pinehurst Pharmacy in Baltimore – I believe it was on the roof – & was on offer for around $5,000. Did I mention that the show took place right before my dad’s birthday? Alas, that price was too rich for my blood, so I took a pic & emailed it to my dad, who was most appreciative.

The 32nd Annual Baltimore Summer Antiques Show is being held at the Baltimore Convention Center this Thursday-Sunday, August 23-26. For the first time ever, WBJC will have a booth (#2517) at the show so we can greet antiques-loving listeners in person! We’re very excited & hope to see you there.
