11-3-12 Word On Wine Nebbiolo Mania!
This week Mary and I take on two relatively inexpensive examples of this fabulous grape. While neither of these are Barolos or Barbarescos they are both good examples of the varietal.
1)2010 Velut Luna from Paride Iaretti. This wine hailed from Costa Della Sessia and will cost you $22. Usually if you want to drink nebbiolo you have to pay the piper. For a non aged low end version we liked this a lot! Check it out.
2)2004 Paride Iatretti Gattinara Riserva. This wine already had a few years on it and and will continue to age well. $30 is not unreasonable. Not a sipper but a great solid food wine.
